About us: a studio that inspires your creativity
At Taller Virgen, we’re a contemporary ceramics studio in Seville, here to support you as you discover and develop your creativity. We believe in the value of making by hand, the calm that comes from working with clay, and everyone’s ability to create unique pieces. Our approach combines technique, sensitivity and artistic freedom, always with a friendly, professional touch.
The studio and how we work
The studio is a space for making, learning and support. Each student develops their own project, taking into account their interests, pace and level of experience. The work is based on individual guidance, with technique, process and reflection accompanying each piece from the initial idea through to its realisation. The clay sets the pace, and mistakes, trials and repetition are a natural part of learning. Classes combine ceramic practice, technical guidance and conversation, creating a friendly, attentive and collaborative working environment where every process is unique and follows its own path.
ABOUT VIRGINIA
Virginia Paz (Seville, 1986) is a ceramic artist and the studio director.
Her work begins with clay as a language and a space for listening. She sees ceramics not just as a technique, but as a vital and emotional process. Through repetition, slow gestures and close attention to the material, her practice explores ideas such as fragility, weight, cracks, emptiness and transformation. Her pieces and projects sit between the sculptural and the symbolic, focusing on what is held up, repaired or given a new name. From her studio, Virginia guides creative processes in which making by hand becomes a way to connect, care and be present.
